Local NC United Ways Attend Southeast Regional Conference

Cary, NC - United Way's Southeast Regional Conference took place in Huntsville, Alabama on May 6-10.

A combination of State and Local United Way Association leaders from the Southeast Region sat on the Planning Committee, including United Way of North Carolina leaders Brittany Pruitt Fletcher (President and CEO) and Sara Carlson (Mission Advancement Specialist). Ed Bonilla (Director of Mission Advancement) came as a facilitation volunteer.

A total of 25 staff from the following North Carolina United Ways were in attendance of the 350+ person event:

  1. United Way of North Carolina
  2. Beaufort County United Way
  3. United Way of Alamance County
  4. United Way of Forsyth County
  5. United Way of Gaston County
  6. United Way of Greater Charlotte
  7. United Way of Greater Greensboro
  8. United Way of Henderson County
  9. High Country United Way
  10. Lenoir Greene United Way
  11. United Way of Wayne County
  12. United Way of Wilson County

The NC staff hung out (some meeting for the first time) and showed off their golf skills at X-Golf on the last evening of the conference.

Much of the time during the conference was spent taking part in:

  • Professional development sessions
  • Inspirational keynotes from industry leaders, including United Way Worldwide President and CEO, Angela F. Williams.
  • Networking with other United Ways from around the Southeast while standing underneath the Saturn V rocket at the US Space and Rocket Center!
