UWNC is One of Four Awarded $10,000 Grant to Celebrate 40th Anniversary of The Duke Energy Foundation

The Duke Energy Foundation surprised four nonprofit partners this week with $10,000 grants in celebration of the Foundation’s 40th anniversary. Duke Energy Corporation North Carolina President Kendal Bowman presented awards to longstanding partners: North Carolina Center for Nonprofits, United Way of North Carolina, North Carolina Community College System Foundation, and North Carolina American Association of Blacks in Energy.

Over the past 40 years, the Duke Energy Foundation has awarded more than $500 million in funding to support the communities Duke Energy serves. This record of giving back reflects the company’s steadfast commitment to philanthropy. Community is at the heart of everything Duke Energy does, and these grants recognize decades of partnership working to change lives and make communities across North Carolina better places to live, work, and play.
